"Anime Phenomenon: HIDIVE and Mainichi Broadcasting System Announce Landmark Deal"

In an exciting turn of events, AMC Global Media's anime-centric streaming service, HIDIVE, has sealed a groundbreaking multi-year exclusive output deal with Japan's esteemed Mainichi Broadcasting System (MBS). This agreement marks the largest content programming collaboration for HIDIVE to date. Building upon their initial partnership launched in 2023, HIDIVE now holds exclusive rights worldwide (excluding Asia) to distribute a selection of MBS anime programming. Under the new terms, HIDIVE will simulcast MBS' upcoming slate of series exclusively as they roll out, giving fans in the U.S., Canada, and international markets like Australia, New Zealand, the U.K., and Ireland early access to the most anticipated anime productions. The existing partnership has already proven successful with popular shows such as "My Gift Lvl 9999 Unlimited Gacha," "I Parry Everything," "The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen: From Villainess to Savior," and "Hell Mode: The Hardcore Gamer Dominates in Another World With Garbage Balancing" gracing HIDIVE's screens. The deal's premiere title, "Nia Liston: The Merciless Maiden," makes its highly anticipated debut during Anime NYC 2026 on August 21st before joining HIDIVE's Fall 2026 Simulcast Season lineup when it bows in Japan this October. Adapted from the light novel by Minamino Umikaze, illustrated by Katana Canata and Jishaku, "Nia Liston: The Merciless Maiden" is a fantasy action series directed by Nakanishi Motoki with series composition by Ichikawa Gigaemon. Inoue Honoka stars as protagonist Nia Liston. A captivating trailer for the series has already been revealed, offering a tantalizing glimpse into this upcoming anime sensation. Further titles from MBS' slate will be announced at a later date. John Ledford, president of HIDIVE, expressed his delight saying, "Our historic anime partnership with MBS has been a remarkable success, and we are elated to extend our global distribution alliance with this new exclusive output deal – now HIDIVE's largest ever content programming agreement. This expansive multi-year accord reinforces HIDIVE's status as a leading distributor of the world's finest genre-spanning anime from Japan." Shibata Mihoko, director of Mainichi Broadcasting System, Inc., added, "Over the past three years, our partnership with AMC Global Media and HIDIVE has significantly expanded the global reach of MBS animation, bringing our hit series to dedicated anime fans around the world. We are thrilled to extend this successful alliance through our new multi-year output deal. Beginning with 'Nia Liston: The Merciless Maiden,' we look forward to continuing to deliver our most anticipated new titles to international audiences and growing the global anime community together." Founded in Osaka, MBS began radio broadcasts in 1951 and terrestrial television broadcasting in 1959. Known for co-producing and airing anime for over five decades, MBS boasts an impressive list of credits including "Attack on Titan," "Full Metal Alchemist," "Jujutsu Kaisen," "Dan Da Dan" and "Akira."
