Beloved "A Christmas Story" Actress Tedde Moore Passes Away at 79

Surrounded by her family both physically and spiritually, Moore took her final breath in Huntsville, Muskoka, on Wednesday. Moore's most memorable role was undoubtedly as Ralphie Parker's stern but lovable teacher in the Bob Clark-directed movie, which also starred Peter Billingsley, Melinda Dillon, and Darren McGavin. Her family paid tribute to this iconic performance, with the statement highlighting her ability to touch lives and hearts with her wisdom and charm. In addition to reprising her role in the 1994 sequel "It Runs in the Family," Moore boasted a diverse acting career during the 1980s with roles in films such as "Overnight," "Rolling Vengeance," "Taking Care of Terrific," and "T and T." She also appeared in various TV movies in the 1990s, including "The Man in the Attic," "The Deliverance of Elaine," and "No Higher Love." Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2009, Moore continued to act until her final role in "Her Magical Christmas" in 2017. Notable appearances during this period include roles in The Kennedys (2011) and "Mistletoe over Manhattan" (2011), where she starred alongside former model Tricia Helfer as Rebecca Claus.
