Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks Put Past Behind Them as Fleetwood Mac Prepares for New Documentary

In a surprising turn of events, Lindsey Buckingham has confirmed that his longstanding feud with Stevie Nicks is officially over. The 76-year-old musician made the announcement at Variety's Power of Young Hollywood event on Thursday, revealing a promising future for Fleetwood Mac. "Stevie and I are talking all the time now," Buckingham shared with E! News. He also hinted that next year could be an exciting one for fans, with the release of a Fleetwood Mac documentary tied to the 50th anniversary of the band's iconic 1977 album "Rumours." While he remained tight-lipped about any potential tour plans, Buckingham emphasized that the group's surviving members — himself, Nicks, Mick Fleetwood, and John McVie — have reconciled and are ready to work together once more. "The most important thing is that we've managed to heal and move past our differences," he said. "I think the process of making this documentary has been a circular healing process for all of us." Buckingham and Nicks, who famously dated from 1972 to 1978, have a complex history. Their breakup during the recording of "Rumours" left its mark, with Nicks once admitting to Rolling Stone that she "resented" lyrics Buckingham wrote in "Go Your Own Way," which insinuated her promiscuity after their split. Their relationship continued to be strained until a poignant moment at the celebration of life for former bandmate Christine McVie, who passed away in 2022 at the age of 79. It was then that Nicks and Buckingham reportedly reconnected, marking a significant milestone in their tumultuous history. "The only time I've spoken to Lindsey was there, for about three minutes," Nicks told Rolling Stone in 2024, reflecting on the moment. "I dealt with Lindsey for as long as I could." With the upcoming documentary and a fresh start, it seems that Fleetwood Mac is poised for an intriguing comeback. Fans eagerly await what next year may bring.
