Overcoming Obstacles: Jeana Keough's Valiant Battle Against Tongue Cancer

After a grueling battle with tongue cancer, The Real Housewives of Orange County alum, Jeana Keough, has successfully completed her radiation treatment. The news was shared by Jeana's daughter, Kara Keough, on a GoFundMe page set up to help cover the costs associated with Jeana's treatment. In an emotional update on August 6th, Kara shared that the next two weeks will be the toughest for her mother, as the compounding effects of chemotherapy and radiation take their toll on Jeana's body. The radiation burns have now extended to her neck skin, causing even the gentlest touch with medicated cream to elicit wincing pain from Jeana. Kara revealed that she has been able to manage Jeana's feeding tube, ensuring she doesn't lose any more weight and is maintaining a steady recovery. However, they are still searching for an effective nausea treatment to prevent painful vomiting. Kara expressed that she will be returning to her home in Florida soon, but her brother Colton has been taking care of their mother in Orange County. Her older brother Shane and his wife Francheska will be visiting this weekend to take over. Kara shared a heartwarming update about Jeana's progress in swallowing water again after a two-day struggle, a significant milestone in her recovery process. Despite the excruciating pain, Jeana, 70, refuses narcotics, making her journey all the more challenging. In her post, Kara requested fans to pray for Jeana's successful completion of chemotherapy and for the continued effectiveness of her immunotherapy treatments. She expressed hope that cancer will never return to haunt this inspiring woman again. Jeana's diagnosis was first confirmed by Kara in July when she created a GoFundMe page to support her mother's treatment costs. The physical toll and loss of income due to Jeana's job being commission-based have created a significant financial burden during this difficult time. Vicki Gunvalson, a fellow RHOC cast member, provided an update on Jeana's condition during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on August 9th. "She's going through it," Vicki said. "She's in chemo, radiation, and we just pray for her." Our thoughts are with Jeana Keough as she continues to fight this formidable battle against cancer. Her strength and resilience serve as a beacon of hope for all who follow her journey.
