AOC Keeps Private Life Under Wraps Amid Rumors of Split with Fiancé Riley Roberts

In the midst of speculation swirling around her relationship status, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez maintained a tight lip when approached by reporters about her personal life. When asked if she was still engaged to longtime partner Riley Roberts, the 36-year-old politician responded coyly, "I don't comment on my private life, but thank you." As rumors of their split continue to circulate, Ocasio-Cortez once again dodged questions about her relationship with Roberts during an encounter in New York City on Wednesday.
Despite persistent inquiries from a journalist, the congresswoman remained evasive, offering only a polite "No, I'm sorry, thank you." The latest reports of their separation surfaced earlier this week when Democratic correspondent Leigh Ann Caldwell claimed that Ocasio-Cortez and Roberts broke up around two years ago. Although Caldwell later clarified her statements, she asserted that the couple has not been photographed together in public for quite some time and that Ocasio-Cortez had stopped wearing her engagement ring several months before the alleged breakup.
"Maybe they have gotten back together?" Caldwell pondered in a post on Twitter. "I have no idea. Her office has not confirmed nor denied the status of her relationship." Ocasio-Cortez and Roberts met while both were undergraduates at Boston University, eventually becoming engaged in 2022. The congresswoman confirmed the engagement news to Business Insider that May, revealing that they had exchanged vows privately in Puerto Rico.
However, since then, she has chosen to keep much of her personal life out of the public eye. In recent weeks, Ocasio-Cortez has begun opening up about her decision to freeze her eggs, sharing her journey on social media. "I have made the decision to start freezing my eggs," she wrote via Instagram Stories on August 8th. "This is a choice that I am making to feel more in control of my life." Although Ocasio-Cortez has not addressed the rumors about her relationship with Roberts, it appears that she is focused on taking charge of her future.
As speculation continues to swirl around her personal life, one thing remains clear: the congresswoman is determined to maintain control over her own destiny.
