Taron Egerton Reveals Unscripted Smooch with Tom Hardy in Cut Scene from "Legend"

In a recent episode of the "Armchair Expert" podcast, Taron Egerton spilled some juicy behind-the-scenes details about his time working alongside Hollywood heavyweight Tom Hardy on the 2015 film "Legend." During the conversation, Egerton shared an unscripted moment that never made it to the big screen - a passionate kiss with none other than Hardy himself. The Kingsman star admitted he had seized the opportunity, grabbing his co-star's face for a surprise smooch in a scene where his character, Teddy Smith, was waiting in the back seat of the car after Hardy's character murdered someone. "I snogged him," Egerton recalled with a laugh. "And it wasn't in the script." Despite his initial apprehension about Hardy's reaction, Egerton believes the Mad Max actor "loved it." Director Brian Helgeland, who was known for welcoming improvisation on set, apparently encouraged such spontaneous moments. Egerton acknowledged that working with Hardy, who played both Ronald and Reggie Kray in the film, was an intimidating experience but also a thrilling one. He praised Hardy as an unpredictable and warm-hearted colleague, even going so far as to call his impromptu kiss "ballsy." Hardy's representative has yet to comment on Egerton's revelation. However, during filming, Hardy himself had spoken about Helgeland's encouragement of improvisation, praising the director for welcoming surprises and adding "little bits and bobs" that brought the movie to life. In a 2015 interview, Egerton also praised Hardy as a generous man who brought a unique energy to his performances. More recently, Hardy has been playing Harry Da Souza in the crime drama series "MobLand," where he portrays a fixer in a London-based crime family. Despite early reports of tension on set and speculation about his possible dismissal from the show, Hardy remains "in the fold" and continues to receive support from his co-stars, including Helen Mirren, who has applauded his different acting process. As of June 2023, "MobLand" has yet to be renewed for a third season.
