Nikki Glaser Stuns Hollywood with Surprise Agent Switch from UTA to WME

Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, announcing her departure from long-time representatives United Talent Agency (UTA) and her subsequent signing with powerhouse agency William Morris Endeavor Entertainment (WME). The unexpected move left many in Hollywood reeling. "Nikki Glaser parted ways with UTA without notice," a well-placed source shared, claiming that even members of her inner circle were caught off guard by the change. "Incredible, given what UTA had accomplished for her over the past five years," added another stunned insider, echoing the sentiments of many in the industry. Representatives for Glaser declined to comment on the agency switch. "No one can quite grasp why she made this move," said a second surprised source, pointing to the meteoric rise of Glaser's career under UTA's guidance. UTA played a pivotal role in transforming Glaser from a respected comedian into a mainstream cultural force. As one of the highest-grossing live touring comedians, Glaser is currently on her "The Stunning Tour" across North America and Europe. She has twice graced the Golden Globes stage as the show's only solo female host and made headlines for emceeing the risqué "Roast of Tom Brady" in 2024. Her latest comedy special boasts three 2026 Emmy nominations, with Glaser also earning an Emmy nod this year as host of the Golden Globes. Under UTA, Glaser secured numerous TV and film projects, including Netflix's "The Fifth Wheel" with Kim Kardashian, and the streamer's animated feature "Steps." She also sold a pitch to Paramount for a film based on the game "MASH," and is collaborating on an edgy rom-com at Universal with comedy maestro Judd Apatow. Glaser's "Alive & Unwell Tour" grossed $19.5M over 120 shows, and will air on Hulu. The decision to jump ship has left some industry insiders puzzled, but others suggest Glaser maintains a close relationship with WME executives. UTA currently represents comedians such as Nate Bargatze, Sebastian Maniscalco, Matt Rife, and Jim Gaffigan. WME will represent Glaser in all areas, including motion pictures, scripted and unscripted TV, literature, digital content, podcasting, branded ventures, lifestyle partnerships, music, consumer products, and touring. WME's comedy roster boasts a star-studded lineup that includes Kevin Hart, Wanda Sykes, Pete Davidson, Theo Von, Bill Burr, Jimmy Kimmel, Brett Goldstein, Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Conan O'Brien, Adam Sandler, Amy Schumer, Aziz Ansari, and more. Glaser will return to host the Golden Globes for a third consecutive year in 2027. She continues to be represented by Alex Murray at Brillstein and attorney Lev Ginsberg. Matt Belloni of Puck reported on Tuesday that Glaser had "abruptly parted ways with her agents at UTA, signing with WME. No explanation was given to her longtime team."
