PaleyFest NY Introduces the Inaugural PaleyFest Award: A Celebration of Television's Elite

In a glittering tribute to the best in television, the Paley Center for Media is launching a new award as part of their annual PaleyFest NY. This year's event will honor industry icons such as Billy Crystal, alongside acclaimed series like "American Horror Story," "Dexter," "Tulsa King," "Marshals," "The Diplomat" and "The Gilded Age." This exciting new accolade has been created to mark the Paley Center's 50th anniversary and will be presented annually during PaleyFest NY. The award serves to celebrate the prestige, creativity, and cultural impact that have long defined this celebrated festival. "PaleyFest is a legendary platform for media, television, and entertainment, bringing together fans with the industry's most influential series, creators, performers, and cultural icons," said the Paley Center. "The PaleyFest Award builds on that legacy by formally recognizing the exceptional talent and storytelling that have graced our screens." PaleyFest NY will take place from October 8 to 14 at the Paley Museum in New York, with tickets for panel discussions going on sale starting today. The award-winning work of this year's recipients will be forever immortalized in the Paley Archive. Maureen J. Reidy, president and CEO of the Paley Center for Media, shared her enthusiasm: "From exclusive premieres and behind-the-scenes conversations to unforgettable moments with the biggest names in entertainment, PaleyFest NY delivers an experience like no other. This year is particularly momentous as we introduce the PaleyFest Award, a symbol of distinction that honors the extraordinary talent and storytelling across media, television, and entertainment." Among this year's recipients, Crystal will soon return to Broadway in "860"; FX's "American Horror Story: 13" is poised for launch; the 20th anniversary of "Dexter" coincides with the Season 2 premiere of "Dexter: Resurrection"; "Tulsa King" prepares to premiere its fourth season; "Marshals" holds the title as broadcast TV's No. 1 new series; and "The Diplomat" and "The Gilded Age" have both received Emmy nominations. Creator, showrunner, executive producer, and writer of "The Diplomat," Debora Cahn, expressed her excitement to be a part of this year's line-up: "We are thrilled to be included in the stellar selection at PaleyFest. It's a wonderful opportunity to unveil Season Four of 'The Diplomat' to the public." The new award joins the Paley Center's prestigious Paley Honors, which celebrates individuals whose innovative achievements have consistently pushed the boundaries of excellence in media. A dazzling array of panels and screenings is scheduled for this year's event, with special appearances from stars such as Sarah Paulson, Michael C. Hall, Sylvester Stallone, Carrie Coon, Keri Russell, and many more. Tickets will be available to Paley members and Citi cardholders starting next week, with general admission following shortly after.
