Paris Jackson Opens Up About Ending Engagement with Justin Long: 'A Decision for Happiness'

In an intimate and revealing conversation on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast, Paris Jackson, the iconic daughter of the late Michael Jackson, has shared details about the reasons behind her broken engagement with actor Justin Long. Speaking candidly with host Alex Cooper, Jackson admitted that ending the relationship was a necessary step towards finding happiness. "It was a choice I needed to make for my own well-being," she revealed. "There were moments when I tried to end it, but then there would be this little voice inside me thinking, 'What if things got better with time?' It's that familiar inner voice we all have, questioning whether we should stick it out a bit longer." Jackson announced her engagement in December 2024, after two years of dating. The couple reportedly parted ways in 2025. Reflecting on the experience, Paris disclosed that this wasn't her first time calling off an engagement. "The first one was somewhat ambiguous," she explained, "even though we were both caught up in substance abuse and the ring was purchased with my money without my knowledge. However, it felt real to me then. This time around, I realized it wasn't as casual as it might seem." With help from her therapist, a clinical psychologist, and an entire team of experts, Jackson came to understand that Long simply wasn't the one for her. "They asked me the right questions," she noted. "Questions like 'Why would you stay?' And my answers weren't convincing enough. I realized that just because someone is a good person doesn't mean they're meant to be my life partner, and I need to prioritize my happiness." Since ending her engagement, Paris has been focusing on self-love and isn't certain if walking down the aisle is still in her future. "I don't know," she pondered, considering a potential third engagement. "For me, it's about taking things day by day. I've learned that if I spend too much time thinking about where I'll be in the next 10, 15, or even 30 years, I might miss out on enjoying the present." As for her current romantic status, Jackson remained coy but expressed happiness. "I'm content," she shared with a smile. And as we continue to follow her journey, we can't help but root for her happiness and the pursuit of a love that truly fulfills her.
