"Spider-Man Swings High as 'The Odyssey' Battles for Second Place in U.K./Ireland Box Office"

Sony Pictures' latest superhero sensation, "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," continued its dominance at the U.K. and Ireland box office, raking in £10.1 million ($13.6 million) during its second week, maintaining the top spot. With a cumulative total of $87.4 million after just 13 days, the film is proving to be an unstoppable force at the cinema. Universal Pictures' epic production "The Odyssey," directed by the visionary Christopher Nolan, held strong in second place during its fourth weekend of release. The film added $4.8 million to its tally, pushing it to a total of $82.6 million. Paramount Pictures captured third place with the wide debut of animated feature "Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie," which earned an impressive opening frame of $2.2 million. Disney-Pixar's beloved "Toy Story 5" followed closely behind in fourth position, adding another $848,063 to its cume during its eighth week, pushing it to a robust $72.5 million. Universal Pictures' animated offering "Minions & Monsters" completed the top five in its sixth week, collecting $557,564 and lifting its running total to $21.5 million. Piece Of Magic Entertainment claimed sixth spot with the specialized debut of "Andre Rieu's 2026 Summer Concert: Viva Maastricht!," drawing in a sizable $671,742 across its event cinema rollout. Disney's live-action adaptation of "Moana" held onto seventh place in its fifth frame, generating $490,552 to drive its cume to $15.9 million. Studiocanal's horror feature "Ice Cream Man" entered the chart in eighth place, recording an opening frame of $414,256. Black Bear's comedy-drama "The Invite" captured ninth spot in its sixth week, adding another $136,039 to its total of $5.1 million. Universal Pictures' long-running horror-romance "Obsession" rounded out the top 10 in its 13th week of release, collecting $88,242 and increasing its cume to a remarkable $26.3 million. As we look forward to the upcoming theatrical frame, Trafalgar is set to release Lee Kirk's comedy "Nimrods: A Green Day Comedy" into more than 100 locations.
