Liz Cho Seeks Protection from Josh Elliott's Divorce Deposition

In a stunning turn of events, ABC anchor Liz Cho has filed for a protective order to prevent her from testifying in the tumultuous divorce proceedings against former CBS host Josh Elliott. The court documents, obtained by Page Six, reveal that Cho aims to postpone Elliott's legal team's scheduled deposition on July 23, 2026. Cho's lawyers argue that the deposition was scheduled without considering their availability due to prior commitments. They offered alternative dates for a mutually convenient time but received no response from Elliott's legal team, who claim they are currently on vacation. The protective order petition refers to a court procedure rule designed to protect individuals from unnecessary annoyance and burden. Neither Cho nor Elliott's lawyers have responded to Page Six's requests for comment regarding this matter. Connecticut courts have not disclosed whether the deposition took place or has been rescheduled. In addition, Cho objects to Elliott's team requesting copies of any written communication between her and romantic partners from July 2015 to June 2025. The Connecticut judge has ruled that Cho must provide conversations with journalists about their divorce proceedings. She was also ordered to explain a $500,000 transfer from their joint bank account to her teenage daughter's account in October 2025. Josh Elliott, 55, filed for divorce from Cho, 55, in June 2025 after nearly a decade of marriage. The divorce has been marked by escalating tension and heated allegations. In November 2025, Cho requested copies of Elliott's communication with romantic partners and employment-related communications. In January 2026, Cho accused Elliott of moving furniture and their two Portuguese water dogs from their Connecticut home. She also claimed that valuable jewelry went missing under Elliott's watch while he had exclusive access to it. However, Elliott denied these allegations in court documents. The ongoing divorce proceedings have seen both parties accuse each other of various misdemeanors, including monitoring private phone calls, removing furniture and personal belongings, and locking doors on their teenage daughter during cold weather. Cho and Elliott met while working for ABC News and got married in July 2015. This is the second marriage for both individuals. Elliott worked on ABC's "Good Morning America" from 2011 to 2014 before moving to NBC and later CBSN, where he served as lead daytime anchor until his termination in February 2017.
