Beloved 'All That' Star Christy Knowings Passes Away at 46 Following Asthma Attack

In a tragic turn of events, Christy Knowings, beloved comedienne and former star of Nickelodeon's iconic sketch comedy series 'All That', has passed away at the age of 46. According to reports, she succumbed to complications from an asthma attack that left her with brain damage last Friday. Knowings, who rose to fame alongside the likes of Amanda Bynes, Nick Cannon, and Kenan Thompson, was hospitalized and placed on life support following the attack.

Her family made the difficult decision to take her off life support this Tuesday. Best known for her roles as Jessica, Penny Lane, and the unforgettable Gloria Bankhead, Knowings brought a unique energy to 'All That' that continues to resonate with fans today. In an interview with Bustle in 2019, she fondly remembered Gloria Bankhead, describing her as "an over-the-top Martha Stewart." "I just remember being on set and being her all-day long," Knowings reminisced.

"Everybody loved it! The writers, the stage managers... It was fun to just be in character like that, even when the cameras weren't rolling. It's what I'd do constantly." Knowings also praised 'All That' for its diversity, noting that as a Native American Afro-Latina from the Bronx, she brought a unique perspective to the table. Her most iconic line on the series was undoubtedly her and Bynes' catchphrase, "Whatever." After 'All That', Knowings made appearances on several other shows, including Sesame Street alongside her twin brother, Chris, who remains a regular on the children's show.

She also released the track "To the World" in 2020. Despite a brief hiatus from social media, Knowings often shared photos with fans of 'All That'. In June/July 2026, she graced the cover of Black Beat magazine. This heartbreaking loss comes just months after fellow 'All That' alum Kianna Underwood died in a hit-and-run accident in January.
