Kellan Lutz Unveils the Personal Reasons Behind His Family's Move from LA to Tennessee

In an intimate chat on the "Inside of You" podcast, Twilight heartthrob Kellan Lutz reveals why he and his family made a surprising move from the sun-drenched streets of Los Angeles to the picturesque landscapes of Tennessee. "I've always had a deep affection for California," says the 41-year-old actor, who spent his formative years in Orange County after moving from Arizona to pursue his acting dreams. "The Golden State has a special place in my heart." However, it was family that ultimately led Kellan and his wife Brittany Lutz (married since 2017) to pack up and leave their beloved California behind. "Post-pandemic, we saw a mass exodus from California," explains Kellan. "Many people lost jobs and sought solace in more peaceful pastures." Brittany's family, too, chose to relocate, and the Lutz family followed suit, settling in Franklin, Tennessee, in 2023—shortly after the birth of their son. Kellan describes the move as a blessing, citing the close-knit community, abundant spiritual opportunities, and even the presence of fellow actors in the area. "There's a strong industry presence here," he shares, "and I've attended more movie premieres in Franklin, Tennessee, than in LA over the past few years." Despite embracing their new life, Kellan and Brittany, 39, admit to missing certain California staples—like mouthwatering sushi and authentic Mexican cuisine. And, as they navigate the unpredictable tornado season, they're also learning to adapt to a change in seasons. "We're not season people," he confides, "but we're making it work." As for their love for California, Kellan remains hopeful that someday they will be a "bi-coastal" family, balancing the charm of Tennessee with the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.
