Nick Reiner Indicted for the Tragic Slaying of Parents Rob and Michele

In a stunning turn of events, Nick Reiner has been officially indicted for the brutal murders of his esteemed parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, nearly eight months after their shocking deaths in their Brentwood, California, home. According to the unsealed indictment obtained by us on August 12th, Nick, 32, is accused of committing first-degree murder on his parents on or about December 14, 2025. The Los Angeles County District Attorney, Nathan J. Hochman, described this tragic incident as "a profound betrayal" by someone who was once dearly loved and trusted. The indictment also includes a special circumstance allegation that Nick committed the murders through a premeditated act of lying in wait. The district attorney expressed hope that the indictment will bring us one step closer to justice. Following the indictment, Nick pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder with additional allegations of multiple murders and murder by means of lying in wait during his arraignment. His appointed defense attorney, L.A. deputy public defender Kimberly Greene, declined to comment following the arraignment. Nick has been dealing with addiction and mental health issues for years and is scheduled for a pretrial hearing on September 15th in a Los Angeles courtroom. Los Angeles Police Department Deputy Chief Alan S. Hamilton previously confirmed during a press conference in December 2025 that Rob and Michele were found with "apparent stab wounds." The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner later confirmed that the couple died from "multiple sharp force injuries." In the aftermath of their deaths, Nick's siblings, Jake Reiner and Romy Reiner, have been grieving privately while also honoring their parents' remarkable legacy. In an April essay shared on his Substack, Jake, 35, expressed the profound grief that comes with losing both parents instantaneously: "Nothing can prepare you for what it feels like to lose both parents instantly at the same time...It’s too devastating to comprehend." Jake went on to express his hopes for justice while also reflecting on his parents' enduring impact: "I can’t even begin to put myself in my parents’ shoes, but one thing I keep coming back to is how frightened they must have been. They were the last people in the world to deserve what happened to them. They deserved to be loved, they deserved to be respected and above all, they deserved to be appreciated for how much they gave to all three of us and to the world."
