Ray J's Legal Woes Continue as Defamation Suit by Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner Moves Forward

In a setback for singer Ray J, a Los Angeles judge has denied his motion to dismiss the defamation lawsuit filed against him by reality TV matriarch Kris Jenner and her daughter, media mogul Kim Kardashian. The legal battle stems from allegations made by Ray J that the pair were under investigation for racketeering and labeled as "worse than Diddy." According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Ray J, 45, was sued by Kardashian, 45, and Jenner, 70, in October 2025. The lawsuit claims that the musician made public statements about them that were defamatory and painted them in a false light. Ray J allegedly made these statements on two occasions: to a news outlet and during his Twitch Stream. Ray J contested the lawsuit by asserting that he made "hypothetical statements," and that his comments on the Twitch Stream were meant for himself, off-camera. However, the judge deemed Ray J's statements as potentially defamatory and offensive to a reasonable person. The judge's decision means that Ray J will face trial over the defamation allegations, though the trial date has been set for March 6, 2028. Both parties have yet to comment on the judge's ruling. This is not the first time Ray J has found himself embroiled in legal disputes with Kardashian and Jenner. An ongoing case concerning his infamous sex tape with Kardashian remains pending, as he countersued the pair in October 2025 over alleged breach of a confidential 2023 deal and failure to pay the agreed $6 million for his silence. In their defense, both Kardashian and Jenner have denied Ray J's allegations, with Kardashian stating that he was lying about her involvement in releasing the sex tape and creating buzz around it. Jenner expressed deep concern as a mother over the exposure of her daughter's intimate moments to the public. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
