Gearing Up for More Gritty Truths: 'The Lowdown' Announces Season 2 Premiere on FX, Hulu!

Get ready to dive back into the heart of Tulsa as FX and Hulu have officially announced that the critically acclaimed drama series, 'The Lowdown,' will return for its second season on October 14th at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. The show will be available internationally on Disney+, with new episodes dropping weekly. Ethan Hawke reprises his role as Tulsa "truthstorian" Lee Raybon, alongside returning cast members Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kaniehtiio Horn, Rafael Casal, and Keith David. New additions to the star-studded cast include Betty Gilpin and Tommy Lee Jones, who join the series for Season 2. Created by Sterlin Harjo, 'The Lowdown' is executive produced by Harjo, Garrett Basch, Ethan Hawke, Ryan Hawke, Duffy Boudreau, and Scott Teems. The series is produced by FX Productions. As the new season kicks off, Lee Raybon finds himself basking in a well-deserved local citizen journalist award following his explosive expose on Dale Washberg's life and untimely death (as seen in Season 1). However, instead of celebrating, Lee indulges in self-medication, leading to an unforgettable performance at the ceremony that catches the eye of charismatic public defender Ginger (Gilpin). Ginger, a crusader for truth herself, recruits Lee's help on a case involving a missing prisoner. But how can someone disappear from prison? This intriguing mystery presents just the right amount of power, corruption, and malfeasance among the city's elite—a story perfect for The Heartland Press, where Marty (Keith David) now holds the position of Managing Editor, much to Lee's dismay. As Lee and Ginger delve deeper into the investigation, they enlist the help of Johnny (Rafael Casal), a jujitsu-trained dentist with a heart of gold and new husband to Lee's ex Samantha (Kaniehtiio Horn). The pair shares custody of their teenage daughter Francis (Ryan Kiera Armstrong), who yearns for more quality time with her busy father. As the case pulls Lee away from his family, complications arise when Lee's estranged grifter father, Lee Raybon Senior (Jones), unexpectedly enters the picture—a revelation that could shake the foundation of their lives. With a captivating cast, gripping storylines, and unrelenting truth-seeking at its core, 'The Lowdown' promises another riveting season filled with intrigue, drama, and raw emotion. Don't miss out on the premiere on October 14th!
