The series promises to deliver a gripping exploration of faith, deception, and redemption. Cuarón will co-write Ascension alongside his brother Carlos Cuarón, as well as Natalie Erika James (Apartment 7A, Relic) and Christian White (Apartment 7A, Relic). All four are executive producers, with James and White also serving as co-showrunners and lead director. Balfe will also join the production as an executive producer, in addition to her starring role. Esperanto Filmoj, under Alfonso's banner and with an overall TV deal with Apple, will executive produce alongside Gabriela Rodriguez and Richard Schwartz.
