Bollywood Meets Cricket as Rohit Sharma, Ajay Devgn, Madhuri Dixit Nene, and A.R. Rahman Unveil Sony Pictures Networks India's Exciting Content Lineup

India is gearing up for an entertainment extravaganza as Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) rolls out its robust content slate for the upcoming months, featuring a stellar lineup of stars from both the cricket and Bollywood worlds. Sports icon Rohit Sharma is making his foray into entertainment by hosting his own show, set to debut on Sony Entertainment Television and streaming service SonyLIV in September. Gaurav Banerjee, SPNI's managing director and CEO, expressed his excitement, stating, "We are thrilled to welcome Rohit Sharma to the world of entertainment with his new show." The highlight of SPNI's content slate is none other than "Kaun Banega Crorepati" Season 18. Hosted by the legendary Amitabh Bachchan, this season marks a significant shift as it becomes the first to be crafted with artificial intelligence, emphasizing reasoning under pressure instead of trivia recall. The new campaign line for the show is "Sochna Padega." Veteran Bollywood star Ajay Devgn will captivate audiences with his true-crime series, "Crime Patrol 2026," which brings real-life cases to viewers through an established storytelling format. Meanwhile, comedians Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa will host the celebrity-packed comedy format, "Indian Game Show." Bollywood's timeless beauty Madhuri Dixit Nene is set to take the Marathi-language version of the "Kaun Banega Crorepati" format by storm. Dixit Nene, who has broken barriers numerous times in her illustrious career, will be hosting "Kon Honar Crorepati." SPNI's Banerjee expressed confidence that she will "definitely rise to the occasion once again." Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman leads the charge for "Tamil Idol," the Tamil-language edition of the popular singing competition format, aiming to discover Tamil Nadu's next major vocal talent. SonyLIV will also premiere "MasterChef Tamil," featuring star Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The entertainment offerings are further complemented by Sony Sports Network's Festival of Sports. This extensive coverage includes India's cricket tour of Sri Lanka, the Women's T20 Asia Cup cricket, the Asian Games, and India's all-format cricket tour of New Zealand, scheduled from Aug 15 to Dec 1. SPNI, owned by Sony Group Corporation indirectly and in full, boasts a total of 29 premium channels offering Hindi, Marathi, Bangla, and English general entertainment, movies, kids, and factual programming, alongside Sony Sports Network and streaming platform SonyLIV. With a reach of over 700 million viewers across India and distribution in more than 150 countries, SPNI is all set to dominate the Indian entertainment landscape.
