"Taron Egerton's Audacious On-Set Smooch with Tom Hardy: A Scene Cut from 'Legend'"

In a daring revelation, Taron Egerton has spilled the beans about an unscripted kiss shared with none other than Hollywood heavyweight, Tom Hardy, during the filming of their 2015 crime thriller, "Legend." The confession was made during a recent episode of the "Armchair Expert" podcast. Egerton, now 36, recounted the unexpected moment, stating that he seized the opportunity when Hardy's character was in the backseat of a car, having just murdered someone. With a dash of audacity, Egerton leaped into action, planting an unsanctioned kiss on Hardy's lips. "I grabbed his face, and I snogged him," Egerton remembered, adding that he had been "so pleased with himself" for the bold move. However, he admitted to feeling a moment of trepidation, fearing Hardy's reaction. But Egerton believes Hardy, 48, appreciated his impulsive spirit, noting, "At that time, I think he quite liked my chutzpah." Egerton portrayed the role of Teddy Smith in the film, serving as the lover of one of Hardy's twins characters—Ronald and Reggie Kray. Despite their close relationship on screen, their characters never shared a passionate moment. Discussing his role, Egerton explained that he was tasked with subverting the hypermasculine gangster stereotype that permeated the film. Director Brian Helgeland, he noted, was "very open to improvisation" during filming, making room for such spontaneous moments. Egerton described Hardy as an "intimidating" co-star but confessed to feeling mostly excited to work alongside the unpredictable actor. While Hardy's representatives did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding Egerton's story, it seems that the duo shared a unique rapport during filming. Hardy's recent project, "MobLand," finds him playing Harry Da Souza, a fixer in a London-based crime family. Despite initial reports of creative clashes with fellow cast members, Hardy remains "in the fold" and continues to garner support from his co-stars, including Helen Mirren, who praised his "different [acting] process." As for the future of "MobLand," it is yet to be renewed for a third season. But one thing's for certain—Egerton and Hardy's unexpected on-set smooch will remain a memorable moment in Hollywood history.
