Emilia Jones Takes Center Stage in Groundbreaking Netflix Series Adaptation of "The Retrievals" Podcast

Emilia Jones is set to captivate audiences once again, this time as the lead in the eagerly anticipated Netflix limited series "The Retrievals." Based on the riveting New York Times and Serial Productions podcast of the same name, which was first unveiled in May, the series promises to deliver a gripping narrative. The show's premise revolves around an extraordinary alliance formed by IVF patients, who band together to challenge Yale University after enduring invasive surgeries without anesthesia—all due to a nurse's theft of fentanyl.

Jones will breathe life into the character of Gabby Clemente, a New Haven bartender and student teacher whose world is turned upside down by her harrowing egg retrieval surgery experience. Upon unearthing that a nurse at the clinic had been illicitly hoarding fentanyl, the resilient Gabby sets out to find other victims and spearheads an unprecedented legal crusade against Yale University.

This latest role marks Jones' return to Netflix, following her successful three-season stint in the streamer's hit series "Locke & Key." In addition to starring in upcoming Netflix films such as "The 99’ers" and "Bad Bridgets," Jones has recently captivated audiences with her stellar performances in HBO's critically acclaimed series "Task" and iconic roles in projects like "CODA," "The Running Man," and the Anthony Bourdain biopic "Tony." Jones is represented by CAA, ARG Talent Agency, and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.

Molly Smith Metzler will helm the series as writer, executive producer, and showrunner for "The Retrievals." The production is overseen by Colin McKenna, Dani Gorin, Tom Ackerley, and Margot Robbie for LuckyChap, Caitlin Roper of the New York Times, and Susan Burton, the podcast's original host. Lila Neugebauer will direct the pilot episode and serve as executive producer alongside Metzler.

The project is a joint venture between LuckyChap and Quiet Coyote productions.
