Thai TV Magic Comes to Southeast Asia with Viu and TrueVisions Now Collaboration

Get ready for a wave of premium Thai entertainment sweeping across Southeast Asia! Viu, the leading pan-regional OTT video service under PCCW Media, and TrueVisions Now, Thailand's one-stop destination for sports and entertainment, are joining forces to bring an exciting slate of Thai series to viewers in the region. Starting August 20th, a branded zone will debut in Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines, filled with six captivating series handpicked from TrueVisions Now's extensive library.
This is just the beginning; more enthralling content is set to join in subsequent phases. Whether you opt for Viu's free ad-supported tier or its paid subscription, you can access this new zone on a variety of supported devices. For TrueVisions Now, this collaboration marks their first foray into regional content distribution beyond Thailand. Both companies share a vision to broaden the horizon of top-tier entertainment from across Asia and are thrilled about the opportunity to reach new audiences in Southeast Asia through Viu's established presence.
The branded zone will kick off with a selection of shows that include "A Sample Family," starring Puak Pongsathorn Jongwilas, Cris Horwang, and Neen Neenara Boonnithipaisit, where a struggling family masquerades online perfection to secure their daughter's spot at an international school. Also featured is the romantic comedy "Oops! I'm the Concubine," starring Emma Panisara Yang and Peterpan Tadsapon Wiwitawan, about a modern woman transported to an earlier era who must adapt rather than resist her new circumstances.
Lastly, there's the romantic comedy "My Wife’s Gunslinger God," featuring Aom Sushar Manaying and Mew Suppasit Jongcheveevat, following a secretive gamer who agrees to a yearlong marriage of convenience with her first love, aiming to win him over before time runs out. With operations spanning markets in Asia, the Middle East, and South Africa, Viu is set to bring more quality Asian entertainment to audiences worldwide.
TrueVisions Now, on the other hand, prides itself as Thailand's all-in-one platform for sports and entertainment, uniting streaming partners such as Viu, iQIYI, and WeTV under its "Nowtainment" concept. Janice Lee, CEO of PCCW Media Group and Viu, expressed her delight about the partnership: “Thai content continues to captivate viewers across the region, and we are excited to collaborate with TrueVisions Now to bring more premium series to Viu.
This collaboration strengthens our content offering while expanding opportunities for audiences to discover quality entertainment from across Asia.” Ongard Prapakamol, head of TrueVisions and media at True Corporation Plc, commented on the collaboration as an important step in extending the reach of their content beyond Thailand: “Through Viu's regional platform, we look forward to introducing our series to new viewers in Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
It also underscores the growing influence of Thai creative talent and culture across the region.” So gear up for an extraordinary entertainment experience as Thai TV magic comes to Southeast Asia with Viu and TrueVisions Now!
