The suit, obtained by Page Six, claims that the investors poured $1.2 million into Wondermind in September 2022, believing it to be a promising mental health and wellness platform. However, according to the complaint, the defendants claimed the company had the necessary infrastructure, leadership, and resources for success - a claim which the plaintiffs allege was false.

The lawsuit further accuses Gomez of failing to fulfill her contractual obligations as head of marketing for Wondermind, citing that the partnerships promised through her massive social media following, advertising deals, and TV appearances did not materialize. The suit states that Wondermind "quietly collapsed" three years ago, a fact that the defendants allegedly kept hidden from investors until an exposé by The Cut in September 2025 revealed the company's financial and operational chaos.

The article also shed light on Teefey's alleged substance abuse issues, claiming to have witnessed her snorting a suspected line of Ritalin in her office and receiving intravenous vitamins and liquid Benadryl from nurses at work. Teefey denied these allegations in a statement to TMZ, calling them lies spread by disgruntled employees. The lawsuit also alleges that when investors confronted Teefey about Wondermind's struggles, she attempted to shift blame onto Pierson, who was ousted from the company following an internal dispute with Teefey in January 2023.
