Kidman, Fanning's Legal Thriller Series 'Discretion' Gains Star Power with Stephan James and Colton Ryan

The star-studded legal drama series "Discretion," headlined by Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning on Paramount+, has just gained two formidable new cast members. Stephan James and Colton Ryan are set to join the powerhouse duo alongside Josh Lucas in this highly anticipated production. This is a reunion for Fanning and Ryan, who previously shared the screen in the critically acclaimed Hulu limited series "The Girl From Plainville." The logline for "Discretion" reveals that the story revolves around Lenny, played by Fanning, a summer associate at a prestigious Dallas law firm.

Upon discovering a tangled web of NDAs hiding a sinister truth, Lenny finds herself in a precarious position when she realizes she has also signed the same agreement. This revelation places her directly in the crosshairs of Sharon, played by Kidman, the firm's most powerful female partner – a dynamic that once thrived as mentor and protégé now threatens to unravel.

The series raises thought-provoking questions about the boundaries of secrecy and its potential cost. James will portray Logan, a sharp corporate associate who takes Lenny under his wing. Ryan's character, Boone, is Lenny's ex-boyfriend – an affluent Dallas native in recovery, trying to rebuild his life while residing at a halfway house. Stephan James is represented by Gersh Agency, Range Media Partners, HillTop Entertainment, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

Colton Ryan is represented by Gersh and TFC Management. Based on Chandler Baker's short story of the same name, "Discretion" has secured an eight-episode order from Paramount+. Baker serves as writer and executive producer, with Kidman, Fanning, Susannah Grant, Per Saari for Blossom Films, Dakota Fanning, Brittany Kahan Ward for Lewellen Pictures, Jordan Cerf of Linden Entertainment, Joe Hipps of Cut To, and Matt Shakman also attached as executive producers.

Shakman will direct the first four episodes, with production handled by A24 for Paramount. The intriguing narrative of "Discretion" promises to keep audiences on the edge of their seats, as Kidman, Fanning, and the latest additions bring this gripping tale to life.
