Rock Legend Matt Bellamy Files for Divorce, Seeks Full Custody of Children Amidst Marital Split from Elle Evans

In a shocking turn of events, Muse frontman Matt Bellamy has initiated divorce proceedings against his wife, Elle Evans, following seven years of matrimony. Court documents exclusively obtained by Us confirm that the 48-year-old musician filed for dissolution of marriage on August 12, citing irreconcilable differences as the grounds for separation. Bellamy's filing also revealed his intentions to seek sole legal and physical custody of their two shared children: daughter Lovella, 6, and son George, 2.
The singer is also a father to son Bingham, 15, from his previous relationship with Kate Hudson. In the documents, it was stated that any spousal support would be in accordance with the prenuptial agreement between Bellamy and Evans, with Bellamy waiving his right to receive alimony. Evans issued a statement to TMZ, expressing her intention to fight for custody of their children, describing the divorce filing as "a long time coming." Reps for both parties have yet to comment on the matter.
Bellamy and Evans exchanged vows in August 2019 after four years of dating. The rockstar shared photos from their picturesque seaside wedding on Instagram, captioning it, "Mr. & Mrs. Bellamy 💕😊💕." Last year, the couple called it quits, though they did not publicly announce their separation until earlier this year. In a June interview with The i Paper, Bellamy opened up about his marital dissolution and its impact on his latest album, The Wow!
Signal. "It was one of those situations that no one really prepares for in life," he shared. "It served as inspiration for the album—it was a catharsis." Though Bellamy is moving forward, he admitted that certain tracks still elicit emotional responses. "‘Shimmering Scars’ is tricky. ‘Space Debris’ is one of my most personal tunes, but it's not all darkness," he confessed.
"The whole album isn't just whining."
